About the Author

John Stephenson came to Hawaii in the early 1960s to surf the famous North Shore of Oahu and he eventually graduated from the University of Hawaii at with a degree in fine art. More importantly, he studied with the great Twentieth Century mystic, Joel S. Goldsmith, who was living in Kailua at that time. Goldsmith bridged the spiritual gap between East and West, and introduced the words meditation and consciousness into the common lexicon. During his time with Goldsmith, the author had many experiences that revealed the nature of the mystic and opened his consciousness to the undiscovered land of transcendent reality.

Navigating life from a mystical perspective is difficult. There are many opportunities to explore different fields and ways of living. The author has been a teacher, a ceramic muralist, a designer and a painter. He has sailed between Hawaii and California, down the West Coast of North America from California to Mexico, and throughout the islands of French Polynesia. He has written screenplays and worked with many well-known directors in the movie industry. He has written books and essays on mystical principles and on living in the material world from a spiritual point of view. His first novel is an adventure into the nature of reality. As one reviewer said, “(He) makes us ask ourselves, what is true and what is illusion?

John Stephenson makes his home in Kailua, Hawaii, with his wife, Sandra, and flocks of exotic birds that visit daily.
